Dressage stable van Baalen has announced that rider Wilmer Lanning will be competing stallions Kigali and Radar in the future. Lanning has been working for Coby van Baalen since December 2003

and was regional champion in Drenthe at Fourth level with the horse Guus (by Onyx).

Lanning was also member of the Rabobank Talent Team for two seasons. Van Baalen, therefore, gave the ride of KWPN licensed stallions Kigali and Radar to Wilmer Lanning. He will be competing both horses at Fourth level.

What is exciting about this news is the story behind stallion Kigali. Owned by show jumping rider Albert Zoer and bred by show jumping rider Mr. Huis in 't Veld, Kigali is by Wolfgang out of Emile Hendrix' Olympic show jumping mare Finesse (Voltaire x Gag xx). In 1997 Kigali became World Champion for Young Show Jumping horses in Lanaken, Belgium. However, upon presentation to Coby, the stallion was also praised for his dressage qualities and is now being schooled in dressage. Kigali is currently at Johan Hinnemann's for his training but will be moving back to Holland soon to be competed by Lanning.

Radar is a 6-year old KWPN stallion by Cocktail x Le Mexico who has been previously trained and shown by Marlies van Baalen and Anke ter Beek. Radar has been selected to compete in the 2004 Divoza Bokaal Finals at the KWPN Stallion Licensing in February, 2004. Radar is owned by Mr Venderbosch and Mr. Geessink.

Wilmer Lanning has been assigned to give both horse more competition experience so that they will be ready and "spook-free" for the FEI ring.
