Slow Start for 2004 Verden Auction Year

The 2004 Verden Auction Year took off to a slow start with modest prices knocked down at the 2004 Hanoverian Winter Auction in Verden, Germany.

Price highlight was Wiona, a White Star x Archipel mare bred and owned by Hans-Hermann Brunckhorst. A dressage rider from Frankfurt purchased the mare for the low top knockdown price of 27,000 €.

Second most expensive horse was the show jumping youngster Girls Top (by Graf Top x Gambler's Cup xx). A Westphalian buyer paid 26,000 € for the horse. Third best price was achieved by Cola Whisky, a Carismo x Eiger offspring who sold for 25,000 € to Westfalia.

116 horses were sold through the 2004 Winter Auction reaching an average price of 10,312 €. 50 of them were sold abroad. The United States will import 11 Hanoverians, nine go to Great Britain and six to Italy and Sweden.
