Hilltop Farm knows how to create suspense. For months they announced the arrival of a new stallion to their farm, but refused to disclose the name of their newest addition to their international stallion collection.

Today, however, was the day of the big announcement. Hilltop Farm's newest acquisition is the Hanoverian sire Royal Prince, a 4-year old Hanoverian stallion by Rohdiamant out of Piri Piri by Prince Thatch xx-Wenzel I, which they purchased from Bernhard Schaerffer from Guderhandviertel, Germany.

Royal Prince was Reserve Champion of the 30-day Stallion Test at Adelheidsdorf in March 2003, winning the dressage phase with 8,83 points and finishing second overall. He also finished the 70-Day Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf on November 6, 2003, with excellent results. Royal Prince achieved a total of 129.9 points, 135.6 in the dressage (2nd) and 102.3 in the jumping phase (10th), finishing as the Reserve Champion behind a 3-year old Hohenstein-Donnerhall stallion, Hochadel. Hochadel earned 131 points to win the performance testing.

In 2002, Royal Prince was a finalist at the Bundeschampionate and competed in the 2003 Bundeschampionate. He was the 2003 Landeschampion in Hannover for 4-year old stallions and won the first Dressurprüfung Kl.A test he ever took part in. Royal Prince has been steadily competed by Anja Rietbrock

Royal Prince will arrive in the US on November 21, 2003 and will then undergo the federal CEM-quarantine. Hilltop Farm hopes to welcome the stallion in their barn round New Year and is aiming to to campaign him toward the 2004 FEI World Championships for Young Horses.
