Ferdi Jorgen Wassermeyer has been nominated as the new chairman of the German Dressage Selection Committee for the German A and B team riders.

Wassermeyer is succeeding Uwe Mechlem, who resigned shortly after the World Equestrian Games due to disagreements within the committee about the selection of the German WEG team.

Wassermeyer's appointment as chairman has been announced by the DOKR/FN (German Equestrian Federation) at the CDI Dortmund. Wassermeyer is a 54-year old enterpreneur from Ennepetal, Germany, who has been involved in several German youth riders committees and pony clubs. Peter Holler, who was suggested to become the new chairman, never applied for the position. Heike Kemmer (pictured right on Albano) and Monica Theodorescu have been nominated as the spokespersons in the committee for the German dressage riders.
