What's Happening in the Dressage World?

It's been more than a year since we last published a What's Happening.. Time to catch up

third grandchild for British dressage rider Jennie Loriston Clarke as daughter Lizzie gives birth to a daughter. Grand prix rider Lizzie Murray and her husband William, a furniture maker, welcomed their first child into the world in June. Matilda Georgina was born at Winchester Hospital,Hants, weighting in at 7lb 7oz. Proud grandparents Jennie and Anthony Loriston-Clarke visited their daughter and third grandchild in hospital in spite of her hectic schedule at Wellington Premier League show where Jennie was judging.

Kirsty Mepham has moved from her former Gloucestershire base with Hans and Marina Rietveld to set up shop at Wayne and Deborah Channon's yard near Haywards Heath. "I'm making a fresh start back home in Sussex and plan to start small with just a handful of boxes," says Kirsty, who took part in the 'All the Queen's Horses' extravaganza at Windsor. Kirsty has moved her grand prix partner Dikkiloo to her new base and is also planning to have several youngsters from Holland to bring on and sell, together with schooling/competition liveries.

German dressage rider Markus Gribbe is relocating to England. Gribbe, who trained at Dressage Stable Meggle in Wasserburg, Germany. is ready for a change in life and will be training at Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer's facility in Ampney St Peter in Cirencester, Great Britain. Gribbe was known in the competition arena as the rider Meggle's Biagotti (by Bismark) and the Oldenburg stallion Plaisir d'Amour (by Pik Bube I). Gribbe and Bechtolsheimer have known each other for 15 year. Back then, Gribbe was the rider and trainer of the Vechte Auction horses of which Bechtolsheimer purchased several.
