Cover hero of the catalogue of the 29th Spezial Auslese of Oldenburger sport horses is China King. Auctioned in 1995 at the 20th Spezial Auslese as catalogue number 40, China King, came into the possession of former Belgian show jumping champion Evelyn Blaton

. With this dapple grey gelding Blaton hopes to capture a position in the Belgian team for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Event Preview:

The 29th Spezial Auslese presents a collection of 32 solid dressage and show jumping youngsters carrying the best Oldenburg bloodlines. Donnerhall, Rubinstein, Giorgione, Landor S, Argentinus and Feinbrand continue their legacy with these stars. Amongst the collection number 16, Rapa Nui (pictured below), is considered to be one of the highlights. The chestnut gelding by Rouletto x Rubinstein x Cardinal xx has a nice, refined conformation with three light-feeted gaits. His powerful engagement make him a king for dressage. Young Rapa Nui has no show experience but seems to be a promising talent.

Also fascinating is the bold Gloria Germania. Gloria is a dark bay mare with three powerful gaits. Her bloodlines (Giorgione x Donnerhall x Pik Bube) show three Grand Prix sires, which is a nice prognostication for her future. Her dam Deutsche Eiche is directly related to Gonnelien Rothenberger-Gordijn's Grand Prix horse Donné, formerly known as Deutsche Einheit.
