Belgium's most successful dressage pony ever, Fuego, is offered for lease. The Dutch NRPS pony gelding by Ismael ox won the European Pony Championships in 1992 under the Dutch Bianca Westerhof.

Immediately after the competition the liver chestnut Arbian type-like pony moved to Belgium where he would continue his career under the talented Véronique de Baecker. Fuego transformed into a well muscled and superbly competing show pony, winning every national competition there was to be won. De Baecker became four times Belgian Dressage Pony Champion and gathered a "European" medal collection that includes individual silver, individual bronze and team silver (won at the European Championships).

When De Baecker switched from pony riding to the junior riders' level, Fuego received a new rider, i.e. Julie Verstraeten. Yet, when de Baecker started training her horse at Herman Gossmeier's in Germany, Fuego moved along and became the steady mount of Bea Gossmeier.

At the moment, Fuego returned home to Belgium and is looking for a native rider who wants to try for the Belgian Pony Team. Even though our 'good old' Fuego has reach a glorious age the pony is still in top condition and can easily compete against Europe's top pony combinations.

If you are interested in leasing Fuego for your child in pursuit to compete this pony in the next millennium, than don't hestitate to contact Véronique de Baecker who will kindly answer your questions concerning the lease.
