Featured as extra cover of the 101st Elite Hanoverian Auction catalog is VA Brentina. This chestnut Hanoverian mare by Brentano II out of a Lungau dam was bred by Wilhelm Rethorst from Badbergen, Germany.
Brentina got sold for 150,000 Deutsch Marks (75,000 euro) to Peggy Thomas of River Grove Farm, Idaho, USA, at the 1994 October Elite Auction in Verden.
Trained and showed by Debbie McDonald the mare, who is only eight years old, convincingly won the individual and team gold medal at the '99 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada.
