1999 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

The only horse able to strive through the German hegemony in the 6 year old division at the 1999 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses was the Swedish Maistic.

The elegant chestnut threw the high scores of 8.6 and 9.2/10 in his two qualifying classes. Minna Telde pushed some great extensions and collections out of Maistic, but the chestnut wasn't constantly steady in the mouth and jumped through one of the flying changes.

Nevertheless the judge corps was happily pleased with the Swedish warmblood stallion by Kleber Magritte. In the finals the combination worked up to a 77.81 score, ending fourth, which resulted in a excellent overall third position behind the two top notch German dressage horses Sandro Hit and Del Piero.

Two weeks after the World Championships, Maistic appears to have kept the condition he showed in Arnhem. At the International Equestrian Competition in Falsterbo, Sweden, Telde and Maistic placed first in the semi-finals (71.7%) and third in the finals (71.6%).
