Moritz Treffinger's Young Riders Horse Superstition Has a New Rider

Moritz Treffinger's young riders horse Superstition has found a new rider in Germany. He will continue his sport career under Lily Best.

Superstition is an 11-year old Oldenburg gelding by Surprice out of Summerwine (by Hotline x Sandro Hit). He is bred by Carmen Freiesleben.

The black began his sport career as a young horse in 2016 under Katharine Mayer. In 2017 Isabell Nowak took over the ride.

Moritz premiered Superstition, aka Schnappi, in 2019 at A-level. A year later they moved up to M-level. They made their international show debut in February 2021 at junior level at the CDI Le Mans, where they finished three times in the top five. That year they also rode in Kronberg and at the CDI Aachen Indoor moved up to Young Riders' level.

They had one more international season together in 2022 with starts in Opglabbeek, Aachen and Donaueschingen. They won the team team test at the latter show and were third in CDI-YR tour during the CDIO Aachen.

In 2023 the pair competed at national level. He achieved 18 victories from riding horse to S-level in his time with Moritz

New Rider

As Moritz is now head rider at Gestut Bonhomme in Werder and focusing on his Under 25 / Grand Prix, Superstition has moved on to a new rider: Lily Best.

"It's pretty hard to find the right words and even understand it. What can I say other than thank you Schnappie for 11 unforgettable years," Moritz took to Instagram. "We grew up together, we learned together and we went through ups and downs together! You are and remain a permanent member of the family and we are so happy that you are just as loved by your new family and accepted as a family member."

The 15-year old Best competed pony Golden Sunlight in 2023 and has most recently been showing Farah Felicita (by Finest x Sandro Hit) and Rosalie (by Roman Nature x Iberio) at A and M-level in Germany.
